We are very blessed in that he is very healthy, but so far not letting us sleep much.

The spring steelhead season was another good one! We were so busy I didn't have time to post any of the many bragging shots of some tremendous steelhead many of you brought into my net. Trout season is currently in full swing, and there are some mighty healthy browns to be caught this year! With the late spring, the river is full of many different forage options for a trout. Baitfish and fry line the shores, bugs are active both below the surface and topwater (there have been some tremendous grey drake spinner falls the last couple of weeks), and there are still a few suckers and steelhead finishing their spawning run. Bottom line, fishing has been a little sporadic with so much food in the system. There are different fish targeting different food sources all throughout the river. You can fish any number of different methods and be successful. The good news is, you get at least a couple chances at a really big fish each time you go out!

In honor of me being a new dad again, we are offering a Father's Day special through the end of the month. A half day trout trip will be only $200. Hope to see you out there,

Nathan

Big trout

http://www.michiganriverguide.com/river-report/big-trout

http://www.michiganriverguide.com/river-report/big-trout#comments

Uncategorized

With the cooler than normal summer still hanging around, water temps are still in the mid 60s and the trout are feeding well.
