Spring Steelhead, High Water, Warmer Weather...sounds like a recipe for success!

The warm weather has really let loose the snow melt.  Couple that with our recent rains, and the river has really risen in the last few days.  Just the way we like it!  I had the chance to get out for a few  hours this afternoon, and while the water was sky high, clarity was better than expected.  Even with the pounding rain and thunderstorms, fishing was pretty good.  Look for new fish to push up  the rivers with the high water.  Based on the number or steelhead left over from the winter run, the outlook for spring is excellent.  Once the runoff peaks and stabilizes look for fishing to be game on!  Stoneflies are very active currently, and caddis abundant.  Most methods will produce fish at this time.  Here are a couple of pictures we took when the rain let off enough to get the camera out.
